Bournemouth were promoted last season as runners-up in League Two.

Carbrini once again supply their kits, having updated the new home strip to a new template that includes pinstripes, once again coming into fashion. The third kit is reversed so the elements can be interchanged if required. Last season's white strip is kept as the team's change kit.

The Bees' new home strip is a more traditional outfit than the rather odd creation seen last season and is complemented by a light blue and navy away kit based on the same Puma template. The black and pale metallic gold away strip from last season now serves as the Bees' third kit and may be worn with black or gold shorts. After a poor start to the season, manager Andy Scott changed the home socks to more traditional black ones. Wins against Sheffield Wednesday and Everton suggested this made all the difference. A superstitious lot, footballers.

This will be The Seagull's last season at Withdean, now that work has started on the new Falmer Stadium on the outskirts of Brighton & Hove.

The new home strip is predominantly blue with narrow vertical white stripes on the shirt, a novel look for the team. The red and black away strip from last season is retained. The white third strip was introduced at Leyton Orient on 1 February.

The quarters on Rovers' new shirts revert to white on the upper left and are reversed on the back, a design feature requested by supporters. White shorts replace last season's blue ones. Subtle gold piping at the collar, cuffs and sides sets off this well designed shirt.

The quartered theme is pleasingly continued on the gold and black away strip.

The U's new home kit is a straightforward interpretation of their usual blue and white strip with metallic gold detailing. Their new away strip in red and black also has gold trim and is engagingly described as a "clash kit." This is probably not a reference to the seminal 70s punk band.

Hartlepool retain their first and third strips from last season. The orange and black strip worn last season proved popular so is used this season as the away kit, in a slightly updated design. A sponsor had not been secured for this strip so it was worn on the opening day at Rochdale unadorned, and none the worse for that.

Once again, the Terriers are wearing white and lightish blue stripes reminscent of the colours worn in their Thirties heyday. The decision to wear blue rather than the traditional white shorts may not please supporters but a white set is available for some away games.

Huddersfield have adopted red and black stripes for their away shirts, a scheme that is similar to the change strips of the Seventies, although the stripes are far wider on the modern version.

Rochdale won automatic promotion last season, for only the second time in their history. The blue and black shirts that have proved so popular are changed somewhat, black now featuring as pinstripes and on the sleeves. HFK is told the purple away kit used last season did not prove to be problematic against sides in blue and is used once again with a new sponsor. Nevertheless a third kit, in one of Dales' traditional colour schemes, was introduced for the Carling Cup game at Birmingham City while it was thought necessary to wear all black at Bristol Rovers in October.

Once again the Saddlers have looked to their back-catalogue for inspiration, this time to their red and black period in the mid-Nineties. The result is a pleasing all-red outfit trimmed in black and with a little white at the collar.

The away strip is a novel combination in what are described as navy and royal blue, but which, in reality seem to be considerably lighter. The red trim sets off this combination very well. The green and white third strip was introduced for the game at Dagenham on 16 October.
